Description

The Olefins Derivatives Monitor (ODM) delivers a streamlined, month by month readout of developments across the olefins and derivatives value chain. By tracking shifts in feedstock costs, product pricing, margins, trade route economics, and operational activity, each issue surfaces the fundamentals driving competitiveness across ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, and MEG.

This issue examines how falling crude prices and rising gas costs contributed to renewed weakness in olefins pricing and margins.

Crude declined on higher supply while gas and coal strengthened. Ethylene, MEG and PP prices fell globally, PE was flat to lower, and margins were mixed to weaker across regions amid soft demand.
