Windlab Systems (Windlab) and Eurus Energy Holdings Corp. (Eurus) are planning to undertake the Kennedy Wind Farm Project in Hughenden, south-west of Townsville, Queensland, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a 1,200MW wind farm. It includes the construction of a substation, a powerhouse and other related infrastructure, the installation of 300 wind turbines of capacity 750 MW each, generators and transformers and the laying of transmission lines.
The project will be constructed in three stages.
The first stage will include 20 megawatts of wind, the second stage will bring the total capacity to 120MW with the final stage bringing the total capacity to 1,200MW with up to 10MW of battery storage.
In February 2012, Windlab signed Indigenous land use agreement (ILUA) with Yirendali People Indigenous for the development of the project.
The project is being partially funded by Eurus.
In September 2017, Windlab and CS Energy have agreed to a priority offer arrangement for CS Energy to be first in line to negotiate a contract to purchase some or all of the electricity and LGCs generated by the project.
Windlab is in the process of seeking funds for the project.
