United Nations (UN) is planning to undertake the construction of UN Consolidation Building in New York, the US.
The project involves the construction of a new 83,612m2 multi-story office building on a 2,680m2 area which is planned to connect the present 39-story UN Secretariat building with an underground tunnel to facilitate the movement between the two buildings.
The project includes the construction of a new building, conference halls, a cafeteria, a fitness center, an employee store, a union office facility, and parking and other related facilities.

UN hoped to begin construction on the building by the end of 2013. But UN itself has technically not agreed to the construction and has been meeting constantly with various committees and officials to start the development process.
