Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning to undertake the expansion of Highway 146 in the Kemah-Seabrook area in Texas, the US.
The project involves the expansion of a 6km highway from Red Bluff to FM 518. It includes the construction of an expressway bridge, Widen and restructure the existing facility to a six- to 12-lane freeway, access roads, express lanes over Clear Creek and related infrastructure and the installation of signaling and safety systems.
On July 24, 2014, TxDOT and City officials held a public meeting to discuss the acquisition process for the project.
On May 28, 2015, public meeting held.
AECOM has been appointed as consulting engineer.
In June 2015, the project received environmental clearance.
Land acquisition activities are underway. Subject to the approvals, construction works are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2018 with completion scheduled by 2022.
