Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO) in a joint venture is planning to undertake the upgrade of a gas thermal power plant in Tripura, India.
The project involves the conversion of gas thermal power plant into combined cycle power plant to increase the generation capacity by 25MW.
The project includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of three gas compressor units, a new open cycle gas turbine and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
In July 2014, TSECL signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NEEPCO to upgrade the project.
The project will be funded by TSECL and NEEPCO equally.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been appointed to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project. TCS already conducted study on required space and water resources available for the project.
