Tadmax Resources Berhad (TRB) is planning to build a combined cycle gas-fired power plant in Selangor, Malaysia.
The project involves the construction of a 1,200MW combined cycle gas-fired power plant on 24ha of land. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
On August 3, 2016, TRB and TNB received the letter of award from the Government of Malaysia via the Energy Commission to develop the project.
Later, TRB and TNB have submitted an application to increase the project capacity from 1,000 MW to 1,200MW to the Energy Commission (EC). On October 14, 2016, EC had approved the company’s application to increase the capacity.
In May 2017, TRB decided to undertake the project alone.
TRB is planning to submit complete feasibility study, which would include environmental and social impact assessments and power system studies on the project to the Energy Commission (ST) by Aug 17, 2017.
