Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH), on behalf of Iran's Energy Ministry, is undertaking the construction of a gas-fired power plant in Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran.
The project involves the construction of a 540MW gas-fired power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
On June 1, 2016, TPPH appointed UNIT International SA to develop the project.
In March 2017, UNIT International SA awarded a contract to SK Engineering & Construction to build and operate the project.
SK E&C acquired 30% of stake in UNIT International SA.
In May 2017, groundbreaking ceremony held marking the commencement of construction work.
As of February 2018, construction works are underway and gas unit of the power plant will be completed by September 2018 and steam unit to be completed by November 2019.Scope
