Transport for New South Wales (TNSW) is planning to construct Spit–Military Road Tunnel in New South Wales, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a tunnel and widening of Spit Bridge to six lanes. It includes the construction of ventilation shafts, interchanges, the installation of safety systems, lights and signaling systems and related infrastructural facilities.
In June 2014, the NSW government allocated US$5 million for the feasibility study.
In March 2017, the NSW government committed US$58 million funds for project development.
The first stage of the work will involve geotechnical investigations. The investigations will include the detailed engineering design, final costings for the project and further route analysis.
