The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is planning to undertake the construction of International Broadcasting Center (IBC) and Main Press Center (MPC) project in Tokyo, Japan.
The project involves the construction of an IBC and MPC on 143,000m2 of land. The IBC involves the construction of two floors of the Tokyo Big Sight West Exhibition Hall and in three halls of the East Exhibition Hall.
The MPC involves the construction of three floors of a new 44,000m2 extension to be built by TMG on the south side of the existing West Exhibition Hall.
IT also includes the construction of production facilities, TV studios, speaker rooms, and common switch room for TV and Radio, parking facility, the installation of broadcasting equipment, control systems and security system and the construction of other related facilities.
TMG will undertake all the design works for the project.
On June 24, 2016, the tender notice was issued with submission period of the application form and a technical proposal by the e-procurement system was dated from July 29, 2016 to August 4, 2016. Deadline to bid was dated on October 4, 2016.
Construction is set to complete in June 2019.
