Six of October Development and Investment (SODIC) and Solidere is jointly undertaking the construction of Westown residences project in Cairo, Egypt.

The project involves the construction of 148 residential facilities on a 478,043m2 area and is being developed in 10 phases.

The project includes the construction of retail facilities, commercial facilities, a club house, parking facilities and access roads, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.

Machado and Silvetti Associates Inc., Wilkinson Eyre and Hassan Abouseda have been appointed as architects.

In 2013, construction works commenced on the first five phases of Westown residences project.

Hassan Allam Holding has been appointed as the main contractor and Solid Construction as the sub-contractor. Egyptian Consultant Group has been appointed as the consultant.

On July 16, 2014, Sodic has signed a medium term loan for an amount of US$42 million with Egypt's largest private Bank, Commercial International Bank for the development of the Westown Residences of the project.

Construction works are underway.
