The Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) plans to undertake the construction of a power plant in Sarawak, Malaysia.

The project involves the construction of a three blocks of combined-cycle gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 1,200MW on 46ha of land with three blocks, each block with a capacity of 400MW, comprising one Gas Turbine and one Steam Turbine.

The project includes the construction of a substation, storage facilities, access roads and related facilities, the installation of turbines, transformers and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.

On January 27, 2016, SEB released Request for Proposal (RFP) for appointing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) consultant. However, the contract is yet to be awarded.

On April 3, 2016, SEB signed a 20-year Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) with (Petroliam Nasional Berhad) Petronas for the supply of natural gas.

SEB is in the process of preparing long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
