NSW Ministry of Primary Industries (MoPI), through Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA), is planning to undertake the extension of Warragamba Dam in New South Wales, Australia.
The project involves the increase of dam height by 14m. It includes the construction of flood channels, spillways, mazes, the installation of gates, safety and security systems.
Pre-feasibility assessments were carried out by Jacobs (SKM Consultants) under the supervision of NSW Public Works.
In February 2013, the Federal government committed US$51 million for the project.
In June 2016, NSW government committed US$10 million in the 2016 - 2017 state budget for the project.
