Sheltering Arms Hospital (SAH) and Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS) are planning to build a regional rehabilitation hospital in Richmond, Virginia, the US.
The project involves the construction of an 114-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility on 10ha of land. It includes the construction of consulting rooms, therapy gyms, rehabilitation areas, laboratory services, parking and related infrastructure.
In May 2016, SAH and VCUHS signed an agreement that created the joint venture to develop the project.
In September 2016, a letter of intent was filed with the Virginia Department of Health (VDoH) to obtain a Certificate of Public Need (CoPN).
In March 2017, SAH has received CoPN from the VDoH.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2020.
