Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is planning to undertake the Windsor Bridge Redevelopment project in New South Wales, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a new 159m two-lane bridge to replace the existing bridge, wide shoulders, pedestrian and cycle path and includes 35m downstream from the existing Windsor Bridge.
It also includes the realignment of bridge street, the upgrade of adjacent intersections and approach roads, the reconfiguration and landscaping of Thompson square, and the installation of safety and signaling systems.
In October 2011, RMS submitted a state significant infrastructure application to develop the project.
On December 17 2012, public consultation on environmental impact statement (EIS) completed.
On December 20, 2013, RMS received planning approval from New South Wales Government.
As of December 2016, RMS is undertaking archaeological investigations, archival recordings and environmental monitoring to aid in the design process.
In June 2017, NSW government committed US$5 million in the 2017 - 2018 state budget for the project.
In January 2018, Archaeological investigations on the project commenced.
As of February 2018, The Urban Design, Landscape Plan and archaeological investigations on the project are underway.
