In June 2016, NSW Government committed US$13.4 million in the 2016-2017 state budget for the project.

As of August 2017, The Australian Government committed to provide financial assistance to the project in its 2017–2018 budget.

Construction activities on the project are expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The project involves the upgrade of road between Katoomba and Mount Victoria in New South Wales, Australia.
