Phoenix Semiconductor Philippines Corporation (PSPC), a subsidiary of STS Semiconductor & Telecommunications Co Ltd, a spinoff of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd is undertaking the expansion of a manufacturing plant in Pampanga, the Philippines.
The project involves the expansion of a manufacturing facility and being developed in two stages.
The first stage includes the expansion of the manufacturing facility. It includes the construction of an 1,8000m2 manufacturing building, 1,000m2 warehouse, power utility building, a distribution unit, a packing unit and related infrastructure, and the installation of equipment and machinery.
In January 2016, Project kept on-hold due to slowdown in the demand of semiconductors.
In April 2016, PSPC decided to go ahead with the delayed expansion of its manufacturing facility after announcing it has received the first tranche of a subsidy as part of the electricity discounts granted by the government to support power-intensive industries.

In March 2017, PSPC Signed US$2.3 million contract with Hyosung Corporation(HC). Under the terms of contract HC will supply equipment and materials for the development of the project.
On May 8, 2017, PSPC reinvested US$13 million in the development of the project.
Construction works on the first stage are underway with completion scheduled by September 2017 while the entire project is scheduled to be completed by 2020.
