Prague Public Transport (PPT) is planning to undertake the construction of a metro line in the Czech Republic.
The project involves the construction of a 10.5km underground metro corridor from Depo Písnice to Namesti Miru comprising 10 stations. It includes the construction of embankments, support structures, the installation of fire detection and control systems, elevators and escalators, signalling systems, and safety and security systems, and the laying of railway tracks.

In 2011, SUDOP finalised an environmental impact assessment on the proposed development. Subsequently, PPT received an environmental approval from the city council in 2012 and initiated a zoning permit.
On October 8, 2013, the Prague 4 District Council approved the project plans. In September 2014, with the completion of extensive studies, PPT finalised the second alternative as the preferred route for the project.
On March 25, 2015, Metroprojekt revealed to the city council that the expected investment amount for the new line from Námestí Míru to Písnice would be US$1.8 billion whereas if the council opted for a shorter line starting at Pankrác, the investment will be US$1.3 billion.
In August 2016, PPT awarded a US$18 million design study contract to Metroprojekt.
PPT is in the process of acquiring land for the project, a design competition for detailed design works is expected to be held in second half of 2017, and tender for geological exploration is expected to issue in November 2017. Construction works will commence in 2019 and scheduled for completion by 2023.
