In November 2007, Hatch Mott MacDonald was appointed by Polimeni International. The scope of work includes conceptual design efforts for alignments, configurations, systems design, and interchanges. The work includes transportation modeling to assess regional transportation effects of the tunnel facility and environmental impacts of construction and operation.
In July 2009, Preliminary design work was completed.
In February 2013, two proposals are being received and NYSDOT has not yet made any decision on this project.
Project is facing delay due to public opposition.
