The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is planning to undertake the construction of a ring road in Maharashtra, India.
The project involves the construction of a 128km eight-lane ring road. It includes the construction of two service lanes, a 7.5km elevated road, a 12km tunnel, walkways, motor ways and pedestrian ways, and the installation of signal lights.
The ring road has been divided into four stretches starting from Somatne Phata-Pune City (South)-Lohegaon (North) and Wadki.
The project will be develop on a public-private partnership on a Build Own Transfer (BOT) basis.
In May 2012, MSRDC received in-principle approval from the state government.
In January 2014, a cabinet sub-committee for infrastructure approved the project.
In June 2014, MSRDC issued e-tender for the appointment of consultants for work of consultancy services for the preparation of detailed project report (DPR).
Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) has been appointed to survey the land.
In July 2016, PMRDA completed the survey of land required for the project.
In June 2017, DPR for the project is expected to complete by third quarter, 2017 and civil works are expected to commence by October, 2017.
Construction works are expected to completed by 2020.
