OOO DOK Kalevala is undertaking the development of an oriented strand board (OSB) timber complex in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia.
The project involves the construction of an OSB manufacturing plant on a 380,755m2 area. The plant’s projected annual capacity is 500,000m3 of OSB boards.
The project will be developed in phases. The annual capacity of the first phase is 300,000m3 of OSB boards and that of the second phase is 200,000m3.
The project further involves the construction of timber processing units, storage facilities, timber cutting and furnishing units.
The timber complex is designed by JSC PIC Consulting Company and ZAO Ramboll. G. Siempelkamp GmbH & Co.KG is the supplier of technologies and equipment for the project.
PSJ, a.s. is the main contractor for the first phase of the project. Kompakt is the main local subcontractor for construction works.
The project is being funded by ZAO Compact and the Czech Export Bank.
Construction works on the first phase was completed in the first quarter of 2013 and put into production in June 2013.
Project documentation works on the second phase of the project are underway.
