The project involves the construction of an integrated sugar complex with a production capacity of 3,500 tonnes sugar cane crushed per day (TCD). It includes the construction of a co-generation power plant with a capacity of 20MW, processing units, production units, storage units, a control room and parking facilities, and the installation of equipment.
In October 2016, MITCON Consultancy & Engineering Services Ltd prepared a detailed project report (DPR).
On January 17, 2017, JKAIL submitted environmental clearance application to the Ministry of Environment.
Terms of reference(ToR) has been granted for the project.
Planning activities are underway. However facing delay due to financial issues and expected to commence construction works in January 2018.
