Jubail Chemical Storage and Services Company (JCSSC), a joint venture of Saudi Basic Industries (Sabic) and Vopak, is undertaking the construction of a new bulk liquids storage terminal in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

The project involves the construction of a new petrochemicals storage facility with a capacity of 220,000m3 and is being developed in phases.

The first phase includes the construction of 40 commodity and specialty chemical storage tanks with truck handling and ship loading facilities for five berths.

It also includes the construction of five berths, a processing unit, a chemical laboratory, an administrative facility, parking facilities, the installation of machinery, safety and security systems.

In November 2012, China National Chemical Engineering Company (CNCEC), National Blue Corporation (NBC), Saif Al Jubail was appointed as the EPC contractor for the project.

On June 19, 2013, China MCC5 Group Corp. Ltd and China Chengda Engineering Co. Ltd were appointed to undertake civil engineering and installation works.

In December 2015, Sadara Chemical Co. has entered into two agreements with JCSSC, for the provision of liquid product storage and handling services at the site.

Construction works are underway.
