Image Resources, Inc (IMA) is planning the develop an Ilmenite, Leucoxene, Rutile, and Zircon in Gingin, Western Australia, Australia.
The project involves the development of an Ilmenite, Leucoxene, Rutile, and Zircon mine on 1,205ha of land with a production capacity of 32.3MTPA of ore. It includes the construction, development, and operation of surface open pit mine with expected production of 89,000TPA Ilmenite, 54,00TPA Leucoxene, 9,000TPARutile and 32,000TPA Zircon mine and associated infrastructure.
The project includes the construction of offices, workshops, roads, fuel storage tanks, solar drying cells and water bores and other related facilities.
Shawmac Pty. Ltd, CSA Global Pty Ltd, ATC Williams Pty Ltd and 360 Environmental were appointed as consulting engineers, MSP Engineering Pty Ltd as engineering design consultant, Widener & Associates as environmental consultant.
In 2011, a first pass drilling program was held and the samples are analyzed by Qualitative Evaluation of Minerals by Scanning Electron Microscopy (QEMSCAN) to determine overall mineralogy.
In 2012, the wet testing of the sample was completed and process design work commenced with the drilling of the remaining section planned.
In 2013, the majority of environmental field work was completed, logistics and feasibility study work commenced.
In 2014, IMA received environmental approvals from Western Australia Ministry of the Environment.
In 2015, the drilling program continued in the nearby area to extend the mine life.
On June 8, 2016, IMA underwent an Asset Sale and Purchase Agreement with Murray Zircon Pty Ltd and Guangdong Orient Zirconic Ind Sci & Tech Co., Ltd.
In May 2017, Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) on the project was completed.
IMA is in the process of securing finance for the project implementation. Subject to the financial closure and necessary approvals, construction works are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2017 with completion scheduled by March 2018.
