Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) is planning to construct a sulphuric acid plant in Kochi, Kerala, India.
The project involves the construction of a sulphuric acid plant with a production capacity of 2,000 tonnes per day (TPD). It includes the absorption towers, a storage unit, a warehouse and relayed infrastructure, and the installation of equipment, safety and security systems.
In October 2011, FACT invited expression of interests from public sector units to develop the project in a joint venture and received no response.
However, in June 2012, FACT has re-invited expression of interests from both public and private companies to form a joint venture to develop the project.
FACT will provide land, infrastructure facilities and will also provide design and consultancy services through its subsidiary FACT Engineering & Design Organization.
FACT is awaiting planning approval for development of the project.
