Edwards Companies (Edwards) is planning to build a mixed-use complex in Louisville, Kentucky, the US.
The project involves the construction of a four-story mixed-use complex comprising 240 apartments. It includes the construction of three floors of apartments over a 2,787m2 ground floor retail space, a pool, a clubhouse, landscaped interior courtyards, fitness facilities, large parking garages and related facilities.
Broken Sidewalk and Lupton Rausch has been appointed as architects.
Construction will be undertaken by the in house division of Edwards.
On October 6, 2015, Edwards conducted a public meeting to discuss the project proposals.
In February 2016, the project secured reluctant approval from Baxter Avenue Overlay Committee and is awaiting final approvals.
In July 2016, Edwards secured a major tax break of US$4.9 million for the project for over 20 years from the city council. In return, Edwards agreed to set five houses that will be turned over to a non-profit organization for renovation as affordable housing.
In March 2017, site works completed.
