DAMAC Properties (DAMAC) is undertaking the construction of Akoya Oxygen project in Dubai, the UAE.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use community on 510ha land and is planned to be developed in phases.
The project will include the construction of 5,676 villas of different types in different areas.
In the initial phase project will include the construction of 1,528-villas, 9290m2 retail and commercial space, a five-star Hotel, a wellness center, leisure space, entertainment units, 18-hole golf course, 2,000 apartments, parking and other related facilities.
The 18-hole golf course is named after Trump World Golf Club, which includes a clubhouse, restaurant and pro shop. This golf course will be operated by The Trump Organization.
In December 2014, Tiger Woods was appointed as design contractor for Trump World Golf Club; and Aecom as the design consultant for the project.
Al Arif Contracting LLC and National Piling have been appointed as the contractors.
In January 2015, Ghantoot Group was appointed as a construction contractor to build 981 Villas and Lootah Building & Construction LLC to build 547 villas of the project.
On February 24, 2016, Punj Lloyd awarded US$45 million infrastructure contract for 168 villas.
In November 2016, DAMAC awarded US$40 million contract for infrastructure works for 1,449 villas to Construction Engineering Corporation.
In February 2017, DAMAC Properties has confirmed that the 18-hole golf course design has been completed and the golf course is set to open in 2018.
In April 2017, DAMAC awarded the US$15.90 million contract to Towers Technology Contracting Company LLC for Mulberry cluster villas. The scope of the contract includes main structure works.
In May 2017, Damac Properties has awarded a contract US$11million to Proscape LLC for the roads and infrastructure works at Vardon cluster.
On August 1, 2017, DAMAC has awarded US$171 million contracts for the construction of 1,296 villas for the Al-Yufrah 2 area to Arabtec Construction. Construction on villas is expected to start in the third quarter of 2017, and scheduled to be completed in two years.
