Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) is planning to undertake the Expansion of Cochin Shipyard project in Kerala, India.
The project involves the expansion of existing shipyard in Cochin.
The project includes the construction of a new large dry dock at the existing CSL estate capable of docking offshore oil rigs and semi-submersibles, a ship repair facility at Cochin Port Trust and related facilities.
CSL has leased land from Cochin Port Trust to set up the international ship repair facility.
In October 2014, CSL received "in principle" approval from the shipping ministry for the construction of a large dry dock.
In November 2015, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved issuance of Initial Public Offer (IPO) of CSL to help to fund the project.
In September 2016, CSL filed for IPO with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) which will also help to fund the project.
