The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), under Ministry of Shipping, Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh, is building a bulk container terminal in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
The project involves the construction of bulk cargo and container handling terminal. It includes the construction of berths, storage facilities, loading and unloading facilities, an administrative space and the installation of equipment, and safety and security systems.
The project is being developed under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and will be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The joint venture of Canada’s MMM Group Limited and Bangladesh’s Institute of Water Modelling and Maks Inc was appointed as the transaction advisory consultants in February 2015.
HPC Hamburg Port Consulting GmbH, Selhorn Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH, and KS Consultants Ltd were appointed for the detailed Technical, Economical, Operational, Financial feasibility study and Traffic Impact Assessment on the project.
On June 18, 2017, CPA invited request for qualification (RFQ) for design, build, finance, operate and maintenance (DBFOM) contract under international competitive bidding (ICB) process with submission deadline August 6, 2017.
The early bidding process for DBFOM contractor is currently ongoing.
