Cornerstone Developments Ltd. (CDL), a partnership between Squamish Nation (SN) and Cheekeye River Developments Ltd (CRDL) are planning to build a residential complex in Cheekye Fan, British Columbia, Canada.

The project involves the construction of a residential complex 467ha of land. It includes the construction of 750 residential units, a community centre, a daycare facility, a 35m tall barrier, a school, walkways, access roads, parking and related facilities.

BGC Engineering Inc. has been appointed as study consultant. Under the terms, it submitted as report suggesting the construction of a debris barrier capable of withstanding a 5,500,000m3 debris-flow in case of a landslide.

In July 2014, SN and CRDL applied for a rezoning application and amendment to the District of Squamish’s Official Community Plan for the implementation of the project.

In February 2016, the city council approved the first reading of the zoning amendment bylaw.

The public hearing on proposed development was held in the first quarter of 2017.
