Augusta University (AU) is planning to build an AU Medical Center in Grovetown, Columbia County, Georgia, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 24,154m2, two-story hospital complex comprising 100 beds on 33ha of land. It includes the construction of 18-bed emergency department, six operating rooms, 24 intensive care rooms and 76 medical-surgical beds, a level II trauma center, parking and related facilities.
In 2014, AU received regulatory approval from Georgia's Department of Community Health to build the Columbia County health campus but construction was delayed after University Hospital and Doctors Hospital of Augusta appealed the approval.
In February 2017, AU has purchased land for the project.
