Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is undertaking the construction of a food park in Mallavalli, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of a food park on 40ha of land. It includes the construction of processing units, warehouses, distribution units, an administration facility, parking and related facilities, and, the installation of machinery and equipment.
The APIIC will hold an approved equity of 56.73% in the project with its contribution of US$16 million. The Union Ministry, on its part agreed to give grant-in aid of US$8 million and this would form 27.04% equity and the Government of Andhra Pradesh has kept option open to mobilize the balance US$4.5 million, forming 16.23% of the total project cost, as debt.
In April 2015, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries approved a proposal.
In January 2016, the Government of Andhra Pradesh allocated land for the development.
In April 2016, APIIC Food Park Ltd, a special purpose company was created by APIIC for the development of the project.
In May 2016, APIIC confirmed the land for the project in Mallavalli, at Bapulapadu Mandal in Krishna District, and the government sanctioned funding for the food park.
Site enabling works are underway.
