Also, it provides analyses of developments in the South Asia region and government measures relating to the countries featured. The report presents a wealth of information and is essential for anyone who is considering sourcing from, selling to, or investing in these countries. Textile and clothing exports from Bangladesh during the country’s 2024/25 financial year (July 2024-June 2025) were up compared with the previous year, following declines in 2023/24 and 2022/23. The rise in 2024/25 reflected increases in textile and clothing exports to several of the country’s major markets—including Australia, Canada, China, the EU, India, Japan, Mexico, Turkey, the UK and the USA. But there were declines in exports to Russia and South Korea. Textile and clothing exports from India were up in 2024 following declines in 2023 and 2022. During January-June 2025, moreover, exports were up compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The rise in 2024 reflected increases in textile and clothing exports to the country’s five largest markets—namely the USA, followed by the EU, Bangladesh, the UAE and the UK. Textile production in India during the country’s 2024/25 financial year (April 2024-March 2025) was up compared with 2023/24 and so was clothing production. Textile and clothing exports from Pakistan during the country’s 2024/25 financial year (July 2024-June 2025) were up compared with 2023/24 after inching up in the previous year. Meanwhile, textile production in Pakistan was up in 2024/25 after falling in 2023/24 and 2022/23 while clothing production in 2024/25 was up for the third consecutive year. Textile and clothing exports from Sri Lanka were up in 2024 after falling in 2023. During January-August 2025, moreover, they were up compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The rise in 2024 reflected increases in exports to three of the country’s four major markets, namely Canada, the UK and the USA. However, there was a decline in exports to the EU, its second largest market. Textile production in Sri Lanka was up in 2024 but during January-May 2025 it was down compared with the corresponding period a year earlier. Clothing production, meanwhile, was up in 2024 and it was also up during January-May 2025.
