The global Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectrometer (FSRS) market size is predicted to grow from US$ million in 2025 to US$ million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of %from 2025 to 2031.
Femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS) is an ultrafast nonlinear optical technique that enables the acquisition of ground-state and time-resolved excited-state Raman spectra of a sample, which provide vibrational and thus structural information. The technique works by time-sequencing three pulses in a near-collinear "pump-probe" geometry. A narrowband picosecond duration Raman pump pulse induces Raman scattering in the sample of interest simultaneously with a coincident broadband femtosecond white light supercontinuum pulse, which effectively amplifies the Raman frequency-shifted light to increase the signal. Finally, an optional electronically resonant pulse, the "actinic" pulse, initiates photophysical or photochemical processes in the sample of interest at a variable time before the Raman pulse.
