Unlike pulsed laser welding, continuous laser welding outputs the laser beam continuously, making it particularly suitable for applications that require high-intensity heat input and deep penetration welding. Continuous laser welding machines are mainly used for deep penetration welding of thick plates. Continuous laser welding can be used for flat docking, overlap, end connection, and corner connection, and the common joint forms are docking and overlap. Although laser welding has a lower welding penetration than electron beam welding, its application prospects are broader because it is not limited by the vacuum chamber of electron beam welding and does not require welding under vacuum conditions.
