According to the report, the growing demand for ICs in premium cars and several industries that deploy advanced sensor technology will propel the growth of the semiconductor industry during the forecast period. The growing demand for ICs is expected to drive investments in manufacturing capacities. This leads to large-scale production of semiconductor chips, which are primarily manufactured in Taiwan.
Further, the report states that high capital investments are required for building fab facilities, expanding them, and managing operations. It becomes difficult for vendors to make such hefty investments, causing them to lose market share as customers move to updated foundry services.
