Worldwide Collaborative Applications Forecast, 2022–2026: Adoption Creates the Collaboration Stack
This IDC study looks at the evolving future of collaborative applications market, and how we connect, meet, collaborate, form community, and measure the impact of working together. During 2021, these applications became how we connected, and we felt connected, and how we kept our work moving forward. Advanced collaborative enterprises saw streamlining of new processes that digitally transformed their companies and created advantages they could build upon. Often this was paired with a culture of collaboration: modeling and mentoring working together as a team from the top of the organization down and from the bottom of the organization up. "Collaboration is now an expectation of the workforce, partners, and customers," according to Wayne Kurtzman, research vice president, IDC's Social, Communities, and Collaboration applications. "Collaboration platforms will become more engaging, visual, functional, and community powered. These features, aided by intelligence, will rapidly evolve and support working from anywhere. A new array of metrics will develop that tie activities to customer outcomes. IDC estimates that the collaborative applications market will grow to $63.8 billion by 2026."
