U.S. Wearable Computing Technology Forecast Update, 2016–2020: April 2016

This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the U.S. wearables market."The U.S. wearables market will grow at double-digit rates from now until 2020," says Ramon Llamas, research manager for IDC's Wearables team. "To realize this kind of growth, we expect to see greater participation from more vendors, warming interest from end users, and continued development in key areas, namely form factor development, connectivity, and application proliferation. This will add greater value on top of what we see today, namely a focus on descriptive fitness data on the wrist."
