U.S. Wearable Computing Device Forecast, 2018–2022: CY 1Q18

This IDC study discusses the forecast for the U.S. wearable computing device market for 2018-2022."The U.S. wearables market is at a critical point of evolution," says Ramon T. Llamas, research manager for IDC's Wearables team. "The focus for the past five years has simply been to get product out and raise awareness in the category. Now we are moving toward more refined and sophisticated experiences — including voice-enabled UIs and cellular connectivity — that allow wearables to keep pace with other computing devices. Moreover, use cases have developed past simple data collection to include communication of information and deeper dives into health. These will set the tone for 2018 and beyond."
