Perspective: ENOVIA Analyst Day 2016 — Powering the 3DEXPERIENCE
This IDC Manufacturing Insights Perspective provides the highlights and key analysis from the recent Dassault Systèmes (DS) ENOVIA analyst day in Waltham, Massachusetts. This event focused on DS' collaborative PDM (cPDM) offering, ENOVIA, which highlights its importance as a core piece of the DS 3DEXPERIENCE platform.Times are good for Dassault Systèmes, with 23% YoY revenue growth and 15% YoY new license growth. According to outgoing ENOVIA CEO Andy Kalambi (he's moving to a broader executive role at DS), the reasons for this growth include:R&D work the company has done rolling out ENOVIA functionality as a set of applications on the 3DEXPERIENCE platformConsistent marketing program focused on 1,000 target customersSet of functionality that addresses what manufacturers need todayA move in recent years from a file-driven to a data-driven, or "zero file," PDM approach (Former Johnson Controls Director of Engineering and customer Rick Sturgeon echoed the benefits of this zero-file approach during his presentation, such as rapid collaboration.)New CEO Stephane Declee (former VP for Dassault Systèmes EPU Industry for ENOVIA) added that DS' focus on the user experience (UX) and a set of industry experiences has helped spur growth as well. In fact, emerging industries' revenue from such markets as CPG, life sciences, and architectural/engineering/construction (AEC) grew 32% for ENOVIA — likely because of the availability of DS' industry solution experiences (49 available with ENOVIA) as well as process experiences (203).
