Perspective: CES 2016 — Products Increasingly Connected and CognitiveThis IDC Manufacturing Insights Perspective highlights our analysis of the expansive event 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and what it means for manufacturing industries. IDC Manufacturing Insights traveled to the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the first week of January, to see what's new, what's hot, and what's connected in high-tech and related industries. At CES 2015, connected products were prevalent everywhere one looked, from cars to health and fitness to the home. These trends continued at CES 2016 and expanded. Expanded in that these connected products are becoming increasingly "smarter" by including cognitive technology and interactive as with the connected car communicating with the smart home.
