Japan Traditional IT Infrastructure Market Shares, 2016: The 2nd Platform Experienced Reactionary Fall
This report provides an analysis of the vendor shares in the Japan traditional IT infrastructure market, which is a submarket of the Japan enterprise IT infrastructure market.In the user survey Japan Enterprise IT Infrastructure Survey, 2017 (IDC #JPJ41773917, April 2017) conducted by IDC in March, users cited the following as issues faced in mission-critical business systems: "difficulty in securing engineers for system maintenance," "poor maintainability in order for functional coupling of multiple programs," and "obsolete database technologies and difficulty in securing engineers." In order to resolve these issues, more than 40% of respondents hoped for reengineering such as fundamental reconstruction of mission-critical business systems during replacement of IT infrastructure after reviewing the business processes and business logic."IT suppliers will face tough decision in striking a balance between meeting customer requirements and ensuring profitability in IT infrastructure business in the main business areas of the traditional IT infrastructure market," says Satoshi Fukutomi, group manager, Enterprise Infrastructure, IDC Japan.
