Japan IT Services Competitive Analysis of Middle-Ranking Vendors 2015

This IDC study investigates and analyzes the competitive situation of the Japan IT services market as of the March 2015 term for seven tier 2 leading and middle-ranking vendors, as well as for five foreign-funded vendors (four of which are India companies). IDC defines tier 2 leading and middle-ranking vendors as those that are ranked, in terms of sales, after the 15 leading vendors in the Japan IT services market, which have estimated revenue of 100 billion yen or more. Of the vendors meeting the above criterion, vendors from the following vendor categories were selected for analysis: user vendors, independent vendors, hardware vendors, and foreign-funded vendors. This study provides estimates of the IT services revenue (by IDC's definition) of the seven tier 2 leading and middle-ranking vendors in the Japan market on a consolidated basis by service segment.Five of seven tier 2 leading and middle-ranking vendors in the Japan IT services market had positive revenue growth in the March 2015 term. As was the case among the leading vendors, many of these vendors maintained solid growth due to continued recovery trends in the Japan IT services market. The competitive environment of the Japan IT services market continues to transform, such as the shift of IT spending to the 3rd Platform. "Tier 2 leading and middle-ranking vendors are searching for the growth strategy of tomorrow and have begun to bolster their efforts in the domains of Internet of things (IoT) and the 3rd Platform.
