At around 10:30 UTC (11:30 a.m. in Portugal and 12:30 p.m. in Spain) on April 28, 2025, a massive electrical grid blackout impacted the Iberian Peninsula as well as some regions in Southern France and Morocco, lasting for about 10 hours in most areas. Being a part of what is critical infrastructure Portugal and Spain, datacenters were required to activate their disaster recovery plans to keep providing services.
