IDC MaturityScape Benchmark: Network Transformation Services in North America
This IDC study presents the results of IDC's 2016 Network Transformation Services MaturityScape Benchmark Survey and should be viewed as a supplement to IDC MaturityScape: Network Transformation Services (IDC #US41035316, February 2016). This study is written for CIOs and other executives leading information technology initiatives at their companies. Together, the two studies offer a comprehensive overview of the IDC MaturityScape framework for leveraging network transformation services. This framework identifies the stages, critical measures, business outcomes, and actions required for organizations to effectively develop a companywide strategy for network transformation. This specific study presents the current state of the market based on quantitative research. These results will enable organizations to work with IDC to assess their own maturity level with respect to network transformation against other North American organizations."No longer can the network be optimized by upgrading equipment and adjusting architectures for new initiatives. Network transformation will require a rethink of the network's strategic importance and will need to encompass people, process, and technology coupled with a clear strategic vision for moving toward digitization," says Leslie Rosenberg, research director, IDC's Network Consulting and Integration Services practice. "Consideration of how the network will be planned, designed, run, and managed to support transformation to meet future business objectives will be paramount for success."
