Finally, the document offers conclusions and suggestions.
"In the next few years, China manufacturing industry will experience a difficult transition period due to economic uncertainty. But IDC forecasts that the China manufacturing IT market will continue to grow at a stable pace in the context of upgrading and transformation of enterprises. Along with IT maturity of enterprises, the proportion of IT software spend will keep increasing over the next few years. ERP remains the major contributor to IT spend, as the number of licensees keeps growing and the depth of applications and upgrading becomes highly required. Meanwhile, applications like product life-cycle management (PLM), business intelligence (BI), and supply chain management (SCM) are adopted at a faster speed, given the enterprises' desire to move up the supply chain and achieve supply chain integrity. Over the next years, in order to ensure sustainability, IT solutions providers need to invest in applications integration and tailored offering in subverticals. The adoption of the 3rd Platform technologies (social, mobility, cloud, and Big Data), as well as their collaboration will be key growth drivers of the IT solution market. As for end users, alignment of IT strategy with business strategy will be crucial to drive upgrading and transformation of enterprises. CIOs should change their traditional role of 'maintenance and operation support' and focus on 'business innovation' to increase revenue margins and new products. Last but not the least, investment in IT talent with interdisciplinary knowledge will be imperative for successful IT implementation," said Yves Wang, senior research manager, Vertical Industry Research and Consulting, IDC China.
