BMI View: We believe that Poland's current efforts to achieve technical modernisation are likely to dependon the success of economic growth in its wider economy, however, we expect that Poland's heightened senseof vulnerability to Russia in the wake of the Crimea annexation is likely to shape Poland's restructuring ofthe armed forces and defence industry for the foreseeable future.
The biggest current security threat facing Poland comes from Russia's resurgence and its involvement in theUkrainian civil war. Russia's Crimea annexation has exposed Poland's sense of vulnerability concerning theinstability in the Ukraine and Russia's strategic ambitions.
