Europe Infrastructure Q1 2020

Europe Infrastructure Q1 2020

Key View:

Europe sits as the second-highest scoring region in our Sustainability Policy Index, with a mature renewable energysector and robust regulations focused on improving energy efficiency being key drivers of this strong performance. In turn, this willprovide environmentally mandated investors with ample opportunities to satisfy a growing demand for sustainability-focusedinfrastructure. EU level initiatives in promoting sustainability will continue to characterise policy in the region, with its carbon-neutrality target for 2050 set to intensify green infrastructure investment in member states, though intransigence in several easternmember states will risk the EU falling short of its ultimate aim.
