Belarus Defence & Security Report 2018

Belarus Defence & Security Report 2018

BMI View: Belarusian military spending will remain modest compared regionally over the years ahead, amid challenging economic conditions and a relatively stable security environment. Defence imports will thus be limited. Defence exports are likely to grow gradually over the medium term, as local companies expand trade ties to emerging markets and benefit from strengthened government support. The Belarusian defence sector retains significant design and production capabilities within segments such as armoured vehicles, electronics and aircraft servicing.
