The project involves the construction of a rare earth processing plant on 474ha of land. It includes the construction of a processing unit, a separation unit, a storage unit and a filtering unit, and the installation of heating system and safety equipment.

In June 2012, Savannah Environmental was appointed as environmental consultant, Simon Todd Consultant as the sub-consultant for the Environmental Basic Assessment.

CIBC World Markets Inc. has been appointed as financial adviser for the project.

Planning activities on the project are underway.

Scope

The project involves the construction of a rare earth processing plant on 474ha of land at Vredendal in Western Cape, South Africa.

The US$37 million project includes the following:
