Analysis by Region - Emerging Markets - Kenya
Description
After months of struggling to gain momentum, Kenya’s purchasing managers’ index (PMI) surged in November to a five-year high, signalling a notable rebound in private sector activity. The improvement was driven by stronger customer sales, aided by relatively subdued inflation and successful new product launches and marketing campaigns. However, risks remain. Business confidence over the next 12 months remains muted, and the La Niña weather phenomenon could push food prices higher, dampening consumer demand in the coming months.
